All students are required to attend school everyday. In the case of an absence, a note (handwritten or email) must be provided stating the reason for the absence. Per Administrative Procedure 5113, an unlawful absence is when defined as: “Student absent from school for any reason other than those defined as a lawful absence. Students who are removed from school by their parent(s)/guardian(s) for more than 10 consecutive days for extended travel and not enrolled in another school or educational program may be withdrawn, then re-enrolled upon their return.”
Your child will be considered tardy after 9:30am. At this time the parent/guardian must sign the student in with the front office. Please provide a note for the reason for tardiness. The student will receive a late
pass at that time. Tardies will be entered into Synergy and become part of the student’s record. For more information on the PGCPS attendance policy, please see Administrative Procedure 5113.
