    • PGCPS Grading Policy Update

      Fourth Quarter Grading Policy: Pass/Incomplete
Our Distance Learning plan is designed to keep students connected to school and to offer instruction in critical content required to be successful in the next grade/course pathway. With equity in mind, grading policy for the fourth quarter is designed to incentivize student participation in learning activities while “doing no harm” to students who are unable to fully participate. Student third quarter GPAs may now be viewed in SchoolMax.
      Q4 Grading Policy

      Q3/Q4 Grade Change Window Extension
The Maryland State Board of Education approved a statewide waiver extending the grade change window for third and fourth quarter to January 1, 2021. This extension allows staff and families the opportunity to access information for the third quarter that may have been left at school due to the sudden closure in March. In addition, all students who receive an Incomplete (I) grade for fourth quarter will have an opportunity to make up the work missed, once school reopens in the fall, for a Pass grade (P). Grade change appeals for all graduating seniors were due April 30, 2020.
To ensure all steps are followed accurately, please refer to the
Administrative Procedure 5116 Grade Change Authorization and Appeals and Attachment A or Attachment B as appropriate.
