About

My name is Christopher Thompson and I am your child's Vocal Music instructor. I am a native Baltimorean and have attended Baltimore Public Schools from grades K-12. Here is where I developed a love for music at an early age. I formed my first band “The Dynamites” in the 6th grade where I not only played bass, but also wrote and arranged an original song entitled “Baby Don’t You Cry”.

I picked up tuba in junior high school under the direction of Robert Sturtevant at William H. Lemmel Junior High School. Upon graduating from Lemmel, I attended Douglass Senior High School. I also studied tuba at the Peabody Prep program under Warren Daniel Brown, who was the Tubist for the Baltimore Symphony. After Douglass, I attended Shenandoah College and Conservatory of Music in Winchester Va., where I earned my B.M.E.

I am married to my lovely wife, Pastor Kathy Thompson. We have recently moved from Raleigh, North Carolina back to my home state. Now, it is my hope to instill the same passion for music into the students here at DHES.
