Primary TAG Curriculum Overview
The Primary TAG curriculum is comprised of a core focus unit, a research focus unit, and a literacy focus unit.
This curriculum has been developed specifically to meet the needs and abilities of gifted learners and is based on research-supported best practices that engage and challenge students, while also cultivating 21st century skills.
The core focus unit, “Creative Capers”, is embedded with high level divergent, convergent, creative, philosophical, and critical thinking. During the course of the unit, students will be introduced to a wide range of creative thinking tools, strategies, and interdisciplinary activities.
From October 2, 2023 through June 3, 2024, primary pull-out classes will be held two hours per week, in one two hour session or two one hour sessions. Students are released from regular classes to attend pull-out. The TAG Office has provided materials and training for teachers implementing this curriculum.
Este currículo se ha elaborado específicamente para satisfacer las necesidades y capacidades de los estudiantes dotados, y se basa en mejores prácticas respaldadas por la investigación que involucran y desafían a los estudiantes mientras cultivan las habilidades necesarias para el siglo XXI.
La unidad de conceptos básicos, titulada “Creative Capers”, incorpora razonamiento divergente, convergente, creativo, filosófico y analítico de alto nivel. Durante el curso de la unidad, se les presentará a los estudiantes una amplia gama de herramientas, estrategias y actividades interdisciplinarias que promoverán el pensamiento creativo.
De 2 de octubre de 2023 a 3 de junio de 2024, se impartirán las clases fuera del salón de clase habitual durante dos horas por semana, en una sesión de dos horas o en dos sesiones de una hora. Los estudiantes salen de sus clases regulares para asistir a estas clases. La Oficina de TAG ha brindado materiales y capacitación a los maestros que implementarán este currículo.
Intermediate TAG Curriculum Overview
The Intermediate TAG curriculum is comprised of a core focus unit, a research focus unit, and a literacy focus unit.
This curriculum has been developed specifically to meet the needs and abilities of gifted learners and is based on research-supported best practices that engage and challenge students while also cultivating 21st century skills.
The curriculum includes opportunities for students to explore connections, discuss, problem solve, reason, inquire, research, create, and discover using a variety of tools and materials. The program is interdisciplinary, incorporating science, math, history, arts integration, and literature-based activities, and is organized around the concept of power.
Intermediate pull-out classes will be held two hours per week, in one two hour session or two one hour sessions, from October through June. Students are released from regular classes to attend pull-out. The TAG Office has provided materials and training for teachers implementing this curriculum.
Este currículo se ha elaborado específicamente para satisfacer las necesidades y capacidades de los estudiantes dotados, y se basa en las mejores prácticas respaldadas por la investigación que involucran y desafían a los estudiantes mientras cultivan las habilidades necesarias para el siglo XXI.
El currículo incluye oportunidades para que los estudiantes exploren conexiones, discutan, resuelvan problemas, razonen, indaguen, creen y descubran usando una variedad de herramientas y materiales. El programa es interdisciplinario e incorpora a las ciencias, matemáticas, historia, integración de las artes y actividades basadas en la literatura, y está organizado en torno al concepto de poder.
