Dear Panorama Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year! I hope your summer has been restful, joyful, and filled with meaningful time with family and friends. We are excited to welcome you and your child(ren) back to Panorama Elementary School! Our dedicated staff has been working diligently throughout the summer to prepare for a successful and enriching school year. We are pleased to welcome several new staff members and look forward to reconnecting with our returning families and scholars.

This year, our school theme is:

"Piece by Piece, We Achieve Excellence: Small Steps. Big Results."

This theme reminds us that excellence is not achieved overnight—it is built one step, one lesson, one relationship, and one success at a time. Every student, staff member, parent, and community partner plays an important role in helping us achieve our collective goals. Together, we will celebrate progress, embrace challenges, and continue building a strong foundation for every scholar.

Our theme also aligns with Prince George's County Public Schools' strategic vision, Forward By Design: Acceleration 2029. As a school community, we embrace this vision and challenge ourselves to "Rise Together—Not by Chance, But by Commitment." Through collaboration, perseverance, and a shared commitment to student success, we will continue moving Panorama Elementary forward with purpose and excellence.

At Panorama Elementary, academic excellence is our shared mission. We believe every child has the potential to achieve at high levels, and we are committed to providing the high-quality instruction, support, and opportunities needed to help every student succeed. However, we cannot accomplish this important work alone.

The Power of Attendance

Student learning begins with being present. Regular, on-time attendance is essential to your child's academic and social success. Every day matters. When students miss school, they miss valuable instruction and learning experiences that cannot easily be replaced.

We ask for your partnership in ensuring that your child attends school every day, on time, and ready to learn.

The Importance of Family Engagement

Your involvement is one of the greatest predictors of your child's success. When schools and families work together, students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

We encourage you to:

Communicate regularly with your child's teacher.
Attend school events and family engagement activities.
Volunteer when possible.
Support learning at home through reading, conversations, and encouragement.

Together, we will create a positive, supportive environment where every scholar can reach their fullest potential.

Supporting Learning at Home

To strengthen our partnership, we ask that you:

Encourage a positive attitude toward learning.
Ensure your child reads for at least 30 minutes each day and practices math facts regularly.
Monitor homework completion and review school communications.
Talk with your child daily about what they are learning and reinforce the importance of doing their best every day.

Important Dates

Welcome Back to School Family Community Day (Orientation)

Monday, August 24, 2026

Doors Open: 8:00 a.m.
Families will be directed to their child's classroom to meet the teacher, tour the building, receive important information, and prepare for an exciting school year.

First Day of School for Students

Tuesday, August 25, 2026

Student Hours: 7:30 a.m. – 1:45 p.m.

Doors open at 7:15 a.m. for breakfast.
Instruction begins promptly at 7:30 a.m.
During the first week of school, all students will enter through the main entrance.

As we begin this new school year, I encourage each of us to embrace our theme and remember that every small step contributes to something greater. Together, piece by piece, we will continue building a culture of excellence where every child is challenged, supported, and inspired to succeed.
