Dear parents and guardians, welcome to the 2026-2027 school year! I hope that you and your families are enjoying the summer and staying safe. This is a year of bold new beginnings—a time to embrace every opportunity that awaits the students, families, and staff of Robert Frost Elementary School. Together, we will unlock potential, ignite passion, and shape a future full of promise.

As the principal of Robert Frost ES, I am committed to making a positive difference in the lives of our children. We will continue to operate under our mission to provide an engaging and inclusive learning environment that fosters critical thinking, intellectual curiosity, and strong character. . We will empower our learners to R.O.A.R.—to be Responsible in seeking alternate solutions, Orderly in articulating their thoughts, Attentive to precision in problem-solving, and Respectful to the learning environment. Our team will continue to inspire, prepare and empower students using explicit instructional practices and constant data review to ensure teachers are maximizing instruction. At Robert Frost Elementary the expectation is that students master the content taught at every grade level to ensure they are College and Career Ready.

Parents, we encourage you to join us throughout the school year in celebrating the many scholastic, academic and personal successes of our students. Additionally, we will host four Title I parent and family engagement nights throughout the year, along with our Second Cup of Coffee with a Principal Q & A session each quarter. It is my hope that each of you had a wonderful and rewarding summer and are eager to embark on another successful and meaningful school year together.. We can't wait to meet our new students and greet all of our returning students on Tuesday, August 25, 2026! We will host a Student Orientation on Monday, August 24 to allow families to visit the building, meet their student’s teacher, and drop off supplies. If you log into Synergy the week of August 17th you will be able to view homeroom teacher assignments to ensure a smooth transition back to school:

SCHOOL HOURS: School begins promptly at 7:30 a.m. and ends at 1:45 p.m. Students can begin entering the building at 7:10 a.m. Please do not send your children earlier because we cannot provide supervision. Students are marked “tardy” if they arrive after 7:35 and are marked as an “early dismissal” if they leave before 1:10. Please make every effort to have your son/daughter in school during the designated hours so that he/she can receive the full benefit of the instructional program at Robert Frost ES. It is important to be present and on time every day. We will continue our relentless focus on student attendance this school year. As a school our goal is a 95% attendance rate.

All students from Robert Frost will be assigned a bus to transport them to and from school. We strongly encourage parents to have their students ride the bus due to limited space for car riders at our temporary location. Parents will receive information from transportation regarding the bus stop, bus number and times for pick up/drop off.

Usually the bus number is the same in the AM and PM. We ask that parents place their child’s bus number somewhere in their book bag on an index card so that their teacher can have this information on the first day of school. Kindergarten students will receive a vest to wear to and from school when riding the school bus. The bus numbers will be written on the vest for safety reasons. If you visit during the open house on August 24th, please share transportation information with your student’s teacher. Families can use the PGCPS transportation site for information on bus locations and schedules. Please note that you must have an email address on record in Synergy to use the app.

FORMS & FAMILY/EMERGENCY CARDS: Please complete all forms that will be sent home on the first day of school, especially Family/Emergency Cards and return them to your child’s teacher the next day. You will find three Family/Emergency card/forms in the student folder. We need all three completed, legibly, front and back. One card is kept on file in the main office and the other is kept in the Health Room for medical emergencies. It is extremely important that we have accurate emergency information on file for every child. We are also asking for email addresses as a form of communication with our families. Sending newsletters and other mass correspondences in this manner will save us and ensure communication more efficiently. We will also continue to use Class Dojo.

SCHOOL LUNCHES: Meals will be FREE (No Cost) for all students regardless of meal benefit status for school year 26-27. Students will receive breakfast and lunch in school. Parents will still need to complete the lunch application online. Lunch application data is one measure used to determine our qualification for Title I

funds to support academic programming for students.

GRADE LEVEL ORIENTATION SCHEDULE MONDAY, AUGUST 24, 2026

BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT: We have scheduled Back to School Night for September 3, 2026 @ 5:30pm.

SCHOOL SUPPLIES: A school supply list is posted on the school’s website. Students

should come to school prepared with necessary supplies on a daily basis.

UNIFORMS:

Robert Frost Elementary has been approved as a Mandatory Uniform School by the Prince George’s County

School Board. All students are required to wear uniforms. A description of the uniform is provided below.

Closed toe shoes must be worn

IMMUNIZATIONS: To help you prepare with ensuring that your child is properly immunized, Prince George's County Public Schools is offering immunization clinics for students. Remember No shots, no school!

Make an appointment for routine immunizations today by visiting PGCPS website and search for Back to School Immunization Schedule.! Kindergarteners in the state are required to get a second dose of the chickenpox vaccine..

SAFE AND ORDERLY ENVIRONMENT: In the interest of maintaining a safe and orderly environment, the following rules are enforced throughout the building as also outlined in the Code of Student Conduct..

No gum
No fighting or “play fighting” (Keep hands, feet and objects to yourself)
No harassment, including name-calling, “putdowns”,
No yelling or loud noises
No cell phones or electronic devices in use while in school. They must be turned off and put away at all times. No recording in school, on the bus and at bus stops.

FUNDRAISER: We will host a fall fundraiser shortly after school begins. It will be from Otis Spunkmeyer. Fundraiser information will be sent home September 10th and will run through October 1st. Items will be delivered about three weeks after sales conclude.. Our second fundraiser will be the Read-a-Thon. We are looking forward to your 100% cooperation and support in this important endeavor. As always, all profits will be used to benefit our students (ie. Purchase spirit wear, EOY field day, instructional supplies, attendance incentive activities, Common Core, and School Wide PBIS program) just to name a few. Thank you for your commitment.
