August 2, 2023

Dear Robert Goddard Montessori Community,

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year! I hope you enjoyed your summer with family and close friends.

I am delighted to build upon the many successes of last school year and look forward to the many opportunities for transformation and innovation this new school year. We will continue to prepare our students for college and career readiness, exhibit grace and courtesy, and model what it means to be good stewards of the environment. Systemically and at the school level, our priority goals include a relentless focus on mathematics, climate and culture, and social-emotional learning. We will also continue our commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive teaching. The staff and I look forward to continuing this journey with you and your children as we navigate this school year.

The primary team will host a new student orientation for our new 3-year-old and new 4-year-old students Friday, August 25, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

The middle school team will host an in-person Middle School Orientation Day for students in grade 6 Friday, August 25, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:55 p.m. The school system will provide transportation, but parents can drop off and pick up students. Students will receive breakfast and lunch.

We will host a school-wide meet and greet Friday, August 25, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. We hope families will take advantage of the opportunity to meet their child’s teacher and receive important information before the first day of school.

We will continue utilizing last school year's arrival--dismissal process. The car rider QR code/Google form is on our website under the parent’s page -forms link card.

Robert Goddard Montessori will open its door Monday, August 28, for new and returning students in grades Pre K-4 through 8. Parents of three-year-old students will receive information electronically with the start date.

As a reminder, students that received a Chromebook last school year will continue to utilize that device for the fall. Families of new three and 4-year-old students will receive information about securing a touchscreen Chromebook for classroom and home use.
