Information about our mandatory uniform policy and the PGCPS dress code policy
Welcome to the 2025 - 2026 School year! We hope that this summer has been safe, enjoyable, and full of positive experiences. We’ve spent time this summer reflecting on last school year and planning for another great year at Woodmore. While we hope to build on our many successes, we are also looking forward to some changes. For the first time, Woodmore has been named a Community School with a new Community School Coordinator, there will be increased departmentalization, with all students (with the exception of Pre-K) working with at least two classroom teachers, and there will be increased collaboration between the PTO and the school staff. Those are just a few of the changes that we believe will help lead to the best year ever at Woodmore!
The first student day for all students is Tuesday, August, 26th, 2025. Prior to that, Orientation Day will be on Monday, August 25th, using the following schedule: Last Names A - H @ 9:30am, I - P @ 10:30am, and Last Names Q - Z @ 11:30am. Please remember that Orientation Day is relatively quick and meant for the student to meet their teacher and get a feel for the classroom. Families can also drop off supplies during orientation. Parents will get more information on class expectations, procedures, and instruction during Back-to-School Night. Orientation is also a great time to walk your child to their classroom. While there will be many opportunities to visit your child’s classroom, it is important that students are allowed to walk into the building and to their class on their own on the first day of school. All Pre-K and Kindergarten students will all start in the cafeteria on the first day of school. Staff members and 4th and 5th grade patrols will be helping students find their classes on the first day of school as well.
A few additional dates to take note of:
Please see the second page of this letter for additional information that we believe will help ensure a smooth and safe start to the school year. I hope that everyone had a wonderful summer and we look forward to a great 2025-2026 school year!
Sincerely,
The Woodmore Leadership Team
