Community School

As defined by the Coalition of Community Schools, “A Community School is a public school - the hub of its neighborhood, uniting families, educators and community partners to provide all students with top-quality academics, enrichment, health and social services, and opportunities to succeed in school and in life.” The goal of Community Schools is to ensure that students and their families are resilient, successful, ready to learn and are prepared to be involved in their community.

We are currently setting up services for our community.  Stay tuned...more information is forthcoming!

G. James Gholson Creed

We are the Gems and Gents of General James Gholson Middle School.
We are scholars who are preparing to be college bound.
We are exceptional- not because we say it but because we work hard at it.
We will not hide nor run from our challenges, in fact, we see challenges as opportunities to learn and grow.
We believe that our success and our education are companions that no one can steal, break, or alienate from us.
We never fail because we never give up.
We make no excuses.
We understand that it is one's right to not care about themselves, however it is NOT our right to prevent others from succeeding.
We respect ourselves and respect all people.
We have a future for which we are accountable.
We have a responsibility to our families, community and world.
We are our brothers' and sisters' keepers.
We believe in ourselves.
We believe in each other.
We believe in General James Gholson Middle School.
