Letter from the Principal
Dear JRR ECC Families and Community,
It is truly an honor and a joy to serve as the Principal of James Ryder Randall Early Childhood Center. I am grateful for the opportunity to lead a school community that is dedicated to helping our youngest learners grow, thrive, and feel a true sense of belonging.
Throughout my career in education, I have had the privilege of serving students, families, and staff in a variety of teaching and school leadership roles. Much of my work has focused on special education, early childhood learning, instructional leadership, and creating inclusive environments where every child can be successful. These experiences have shaped my belief that strong schools are built through meaningful relationships, high expectations, collaboration, and a deep commitment to meeting the needs of the whole child.
At JRR ECC, we want every child to feel welcomed, supported, challenged, and celebrated. We also recognize that families are our most important partners. You know your child best, and your ideas, questions, involvement, and partnership are essential to the work we do.
Our Priorities This Year
As we continue to grow together, our work will center on several key priorities:
- Strong early learning and numeracy: Building a strong foundation in mathematics, problem-solving, language, and early learning skills through engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction.
- Communication for every child: Ensuring students have meaningful ways to communicate, including the consistent use of visual supports, CORE vocabulary, and other communication tools when appropriate.
- Inclusive and individualized learning: Providing high-quality instruction and supports that recognize the unique strengths and needs of each learner.
- Social-emotional development: Helping children build confidence, independence, relationships, self-regulation, and the skills they need to be successful at school.
- A strong and supported staff: Developing a culture of collaboration, coaching, continuous learning, and shared responsibility for student success.
- Family and community partnerships: Creating meaningful opportunities for families to participate, share their voices, and partner with us throughout their child’s educational journey.
None of these priorities can be accomplished by the school alone. Our greatest success will come from working together. I encourage you to participate in school events, join our PTA, communicate regularly with your child’s teachers, and share your ideas and feedback with us.
Please also stay connected with JRR ECC through Seesaw and our social media channels. We will use these platforms to share important announcements, upcoming events, family resources, reminders, and—most importantly—to celebrate the wonderful learning and growth happening throughout our school.
I am incredibly excited about what lies ahead for JRR ECC. Thank you for trusting us with the privilege of educating, supporting, and caring for your children. I look forward to getting to know each of you and working alongside you to make James Ryder Randall Early Childhood Center a place where every child can learn, grow, and belong.
