Dr. Tracy Oates is a seasoned educator with over 16 years of experience, currently serving in her fourth year as an administrator with Prince George’s County Public Schools. She is known for her strategic leadership, strong instructional expertise, and ability to streamline school systems and operations. Dr. Oates fosters a professional climate that supports staff growth, student achievement, and meaningful family and community engagement.
Before becoming an administrator, Dr. Oates spent two years as a Reading Instructional Lead Teacher, where she coached and mentored new educators and promoted best instructional practices. As a Professional Development Lead Teacher, she designed and delivered training to strengthen instructional capacity. She also contributed as a curriculum writer for the Talented and Gifted Reading Program for grades 6–8. Her teaching experience spans both elementary and middle school levels.
Dr. Oates holds a B.S. from St. John’s University (NY), a Master’s from the Metropolitan College of New York, and an Ed.D. from Concordia University in Portland, Oregon.
Beyond her professional life, she enjoys time with her family in Aquasco, Maryland, where she cooks, bakes, reads, and follows fashion trends. A lifelong learner and committed leader, Dr. Oates is passionate about creating inclusive, student-centered environments where every child is valued and empowered to succeed.
