Uniform Policy

Uniforms are mandatory for all scholars at Maya Angelou French Immersion IB World School.

Please read the entire uniform policy.

Fall Picture Day: students will be allowed to dress in an outfit of their choice

Spring Picture Day: all students will be in full uniform

Field Trips: all students will be in full uniform unless otherwise stated.

8th Grade Moving Up Ceremony: 8th grade students will NOT be in uniform. Attire will be shared by the MS Team.

SPECIFIC STEPS TO BE TAKEN AND PENALTY FOR CONSISTENT VIOLATIONS:

In accordance with PGCPS Administrative Procedure 0600 the following steps will be taken for violations:

1st violation: The child’s teacher contacts the parent(s) or guardian(s) and notifies the principal that a violation has occurred.

2nd offense: The teacher refers the student to the principal who contacts the parent(s) or guardian(s) by telephone and in writing that a second violation has occurred.

3rd offense: Further violations will be deemed as resistance or insubordination and will be dealt with in accordance with the Code of Student Conduct.

Note: Parents that choose not to have students in uniform daily can complete an application for exemption from the Mandatory School Uniform Program. Applications may be obtained from the school and submitted to the Office of Student Transfers.  On uniform free (dress down) day, all students are expected to dress appropriately for school (ie., no crocs, flip flops, tank tops, etc.).  We also encourage you to check the local weather daily
