Dear Thurgood Marshall Middle School Community,

I am pleased to share an important leadership update with you. It is with great pleasure that I announce the appointment of Dr. Lorenzo Prillman as the new Principal of Thurgood Marshall Middle School, effective July 13, 2026.

Dr. Prillman is a strong, dynamic leader with a deep commitment to instructional excellence, student achievement, and building collaborative school communities. He brings a wealth of experience in supporting teaching and learning, developing staff capacity, and using data to drive results. I am confident that his leadership will build upon the strong foundation already established at Thurgood Marshall Middle School and continue moving the school forward in meaningful and impactful ways.

We recognize the outstanding work that has taken place at Thurgood Marshall, and we look forward to Dr. Prillman partnering with students, staff, families, and the community to continue that tradition of excellence. His leadership style reflects a commitment to building strong relationships, maintaining high expectations, and keeping student success at the center of every decision, qualities that align well with the values of the Thurgood Marshall community.

There will be opportunities for Dr. Prillman to meet and connect with staff, students, families, and the broader school community before the start of the new school year. Additional details regarding these opportunities will be shared in the coming weeks.

Please join me in extending a warm welcome to Dr. Prillman as he becomes a member of the Thurgood Marshall Middle School Family. I am confident that, working together, we will continue to build upon the school's many accomplishments and create even greater opportunities for every student.

Sincerely,
Rodrick Hobbs, Ed.D.
